SUMMER RIDING IS HERE!

 by Andrew Ryeland

Georgian Bay and July were made for each other!  There’s no sweeter place than beside a lake when the temperatures hit thirty something.  This summer the Parry Sound ATV District Club (PSATV) has planned some events that will combine all that summer gives with the thrill of backcountry exploration only found on an ATV.  If you are tired of travelling the same trails weekend after weekend and want to experience some new scenery and friends then check out our calendar.

In July the PSATV has two events!

  1. On Tuesday July 13th at 5:00pm we will be leaving on our annual summer ride returning to a BBQ.  This tour is always a lot of fun and topped of with great food and friends.
  2. The ‘Skin & Grin’ tour.  An overnight ATV adventure with camping, trails, swimming and a real chance to test your ATV’s capabilities both on the trails and its ability to carry a load.  We will be travelling a trail scouted earlier this spring that has never been part of any PSATV ride before.  This one promises to be a really memory maker so make sure you cross off Saturday July 24th and Sunday July 25th on your calendar!

… Other upcoming events

  • August 13th to 15th the PSATV will travel to Eastern Ontario to spend a weekend on the EOTA trail system
  • Fall Jam 2004 – October 1, 2, 3rd If you loved Spring Jam you’ll be blown away by Fall Jam.  It’s all happening at the Foley Fairgrounds at the absolute peak of the autumn colours.  All new trails and some very interesting twists on the jamboree theme.  Keep a watch on www.falljam.ca .

With over 2,000 new ATVs are being purchased each month in Ontario we are inundated with calls about where to ride and what are the rules and where can I get training.  The PSATV is partnered with several organizations that focus on the responsible and exciting aspects of ATV experiences. If you have just purchased an ATV or you would like to find out what the backcountry trails in this area have to offer then why not join us?
